Danny's love of Latin music runs deep, rooted in the Afro-Cuban sounds of Dizzy Gillespie and shaped by the great pianists such as Michel Camilo and Antonio Carlos Jobim, as well as more contemporary pianists like Michel Petrucciani and Chick Corea. That influence was there from the start, and Danny's debut album leaned heavily on Latin grooves, from bossa nova, calypso, and samba into more contemporary, modern rhythms. Tonight's performance is an evening of original Latin music alongside a handful of Latin standards; and a few standards that, in Danny's view, should have been Latin all along. He'll be joined by longtime collaborators Bill Leather on percussion and Ryan Donnelly on bass.

Adriana Giordano is a Brazilian-born vocalist and cultural ambassador whose performances infuse the Pacific Northwest jazz scene with the vibrant rhythms and melodies of her homeland. Raised in Sao Paulo, Giordano brings a rich musical heritage to her work, blending samba, forro, bossa nova, and jazz into a dynamic and soulful sound. Adriana will be performing with Gabe Rodrigues, Jonathan Robinson, Nathan Vetter and Xavier Lecouturier.

Brent Jensen Quartet presents “Bossa Antigua: The Latin Side of Paul Desmond”
Experience the cool, feather-light elegance of West Coast jazz fused with the warm, hypnotic rhythms of Brazil. Saxophonist Brent Jensen brings to life “Bossa Antigua: The Latin Side of Paul Desmond,” an intimate tribute celebrating the iconic 1965 album by legendary alto saxophonist and “Take Five” composer Paul Desmond. Joining Brent for this special performance will be acoustic guitarist Jamie Findlay, bassist Chris Symer and percussionist Steve Tate.

John Sanders teaches the music theory courses and directs the jazz band at Edmonds College. As a pianist and arranger, John studied with legendary directors Dave Barduhn and John Moawad at Mount Hood Community College and Central Washington University. He continues his work as a writer and performer on piano, accordion, and various Latin instruments all around the Northwest.

Following a four-month sabbatical in Puerto Rico, John brought Salsa music to life on the Edmonds College campus, organizing Salsa events and directing the college's Salsa band. John holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education and Master of Music in composition, both from CWU.

John brings together Latin connoisseurs bassist Jeff Norwood and percussionist Stuart Vazquez to explore grooves from Havana to Rio.

Francesco Crosara, is a Seattle-based Italian-born jazz pianist & composer who is making a significant impact on the jazz scene internationally with a passion for creating and sharing innovative and soulful music. His original compositions meld an impressive mix of jazz improvisation, a romantic vein from his classical Conservatory training in Rome, bouncy lyrical expression, along with strong Latin influences.

Crosara stands among the European-bred jazz greats, performing over the years with the likes of Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Richie Cole, Bobby Shew, Ira Sullivan, Don Menza, Von Freeman, John Heard, Gabe Baltazar, Bruce Forman, Barbara Morrison, Earl Palmer, Lilian Terry, and more.

Crosara’s music draws from his European roots and blends his passion for world music and the influences of jazz piano greats Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and Bill Evans. His ensemble has a unique sound that blends contemporary jazz with elements of classical, world music, and Latin grooves. Crosara’s performances are not just concerts, but a musical experience that engages the audience and evokes a range of emotions.

Crosara also serves as President on the Board of Directors of the MUSIC DISCOVERY CENTER (MDC), a non-profit organization based in Bremerton, WA, dedicated to creating an inclusive space for community members to experience, explore, and contribute to the world of music through education, performance, and mentorship.

In 2025, Crosara joined the Music Faculty at OLYMPIC COLLEGE in Bremerton, WA, serving as Adjunct Piano Jazz instructor. He is also the piano chair for the Kitsap Jazz Orchestra (KJO), and the Olympic College Faculty Jazz Sextet.

He also serves as the administrator of the Lilian Terry Estate, stewarding the artistic legacy of his mother, the renowned Italian jazz vocalist and broadcaster.

Seattle jazz veterans Milo Petersen and Steve Griggs bring together a combined lifetime of performing, composing, and teaching. Guitarist, drummer, and composer Milo Petersen received his first music lesson from his Danish grandfather, a harmonica and accordion player who, when five-year-old Milo asked to try the harmonica, replied, "First you have to whistle a tune." Milo went on to study violin and sing in church choirs before turning to guitar under Mark Baker, Jim Kelleher, Dave Peterson, Herb Ellis, Tal Farlow, and Joe Pass, and he continues a long-term study with 7-string master Ron Eschete. Active in the Pacific Northwest jazz scene since the late 1970s—after three years at Western Washington University and four years leading trios and quartets in New York City—he has performed with an extraordinary range of artists, including Julian Priester, Joe Sample, Ernestine Anderson, Nancy King, Cedar Walton, Mose Allison, Larry Coryell, and Billy Hart. He has appeared on The Bob Hope Show and The Eartha Kitt Show, in the Broadway productions Ain't Misbehavin', Five Guys Named Moe, and Smokey Joe's Cafe, and alongside The Coasters, The Drifters, and The 5th Dimension. He has taught at Western Washington University, Cornish College of the Arts, and Seattle Central College.

Saxophonist and composer Steve Griggs is a natural partner, and the two share a notable credit: both recorded with legendary drummer Elvin Jones—Milo on two Hip City Music CDs (Jones for Elvin, Vols. 1 & 2) that Steve helped make possible. Steve's saxophone can also be heard in featured solos on the Halo 3: ODST video game soundtrack. His arrangement of Longfellow's "Moonlight" earned a Longfellow Chorus Award of Distinction in 2010, and his ensemble won the Chamber Music America / ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music in both 2013 and 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of Illinois, an MBA from Pace University, and certificates in Arts Management and Narrative Nonfiction from the University of Washington. A longtime community leader, Steve has served as President of the Friends of the Seattle Public Library and on the boards of Puget Sound Community School and Spruce Street School.

Jamie Maschler is a Seattle-based accordionist, music director, and educator known for showcasing the extraordinary versatility of the accordion. A lifelong performer, she has played since age four and is a co-founder of the Brazilian ensembles Foleada and En Canto, as well as the accordion duo Creosote. Jamie has performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Philharmonic, Pueblo Symphony, Federal Way Symphony, and Central Washington University Symphony, and twice portrayed Nelly Friedman in Paula Vogel’s award-winning play Indecent. In 2018, she was featured in the National Association of Music Merchants’ Museum of Making Music exhibition, Accordions: Expanding Voices in the USA. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Cornish College of the Arts and studied with three-time Latin Grammy nominee Jovino Santos Neto. She also works with Petosa Accordions, helping expand the instrument’s contemporary reach. Jamie is joined by percussionist Adam Kozie.

Rita LiDu was born in Belém do Pará, North of Brazil and the entrance of the Amazon Rainforest.

Resident of the city of Rio de Janeiro for many years, this “Carioca” at heart was considered by the press as one of the new voices of the Brazilian Popular Music– MPB.

Rita LiDu was chosen in her debut CD, released by Sony Music, to participate in the select “Brazilian Music Award” and to perform on the Show of the "Olympic Games" in Rio de Janeiro. As a result, she actively participates in music festivals , theaters and select bars.

She has 2 CDs released (1-*Rita lima & Los Petaleiros* and 2-*DEVIR* Rita LiDu), which can be found on all digital platforms.

Led by Latin Grammy-nominated composer and pianist Cassio Vianna, the Cassio Vianna Brazilian Trio performs original compositions alongside beloved Brazilian classics. A native of Rio de Janeiro and Director of Jazz Studies at Pacific Lutheran University, Vianna is an internationally recognized educator whose award-winning music has been performed by artists including Chris Potter, Eric Marienthal, and the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors.

The trio also features acclaimed Brazilian bassist Wagner Trindade, an Associate Professor of Music at Los Angeles Harbor College who has performed and taught throughout the Americas, China, and the Caribbean, and veteran drummer Mark Ivester, a versatile performer and Pacific Lutheran University faculty member whose credits include Freddy Hubbard, Eliane Elias, John Patitucci, Michael Brecker, and Jovino Santos Neto. Together, they deliver an engaging celebration of Brazilian jazz, rhythm, and improvisation.

Dr. Ben Thomas is one of the most in-demand vibists in the Pacific Northwest. Known for combining virtuosic technique with flowing lyricism, Thomas’s music spans from pyrotechnic improvisations to delicate soundscapes. Thomas is joined by Eric Likkel on clarinet and Moe Weisner on bass.

Chris Fagan is a jazz saxophonist whose career spans Los Angeles, New York, Europe, and Seattle, performing with artists such as David Murray, Jack McDuff, Dave Douglas, and Steve Miller. A former member of the Bill Warfield Big Band, he has released recordings including Lost Bohemia and Signs of Life and has appeared at venues like the Village Vanguard while collaborating across modern post-bop, free jazz, and Latin ensembles. His most recent original compositions are inspired by his travel to Brazil.

Fagan will be joined by Scott Lytle (organ) and Greg Williamson (drums).

Marty grew up in a jazz home where his father, Seattle trombone legend and percussionist Dave Tuttle, introduced him to Afro-Cuban drumming as a child. Some of his early credits include playing drums with Seattle favorites from the late 1960s, such as The Jimmy Hanna Big Band—who backed The Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, and Major Lance locally . The band also opened for Stevie Wonder and Booker T. & the M.G's at the Seattle Center Coliseum. He later toured with The Springfield Rifle during the Northwest's "Teen Market" heyday.
His first conga work was at the age of 18, subbing for his father at Seattle's Edgewater Inn with Don Trenner, who was then the leader of Steve Allen's Tonight Show band. His bongo and timbale work can be heard on the 2005 CD "Vámonos Pa'l Monte" by Seattle's Picoso. Marty Is credited In Oswaldo Lucca's book "Salsa Music in the Pacific NW" as being "the first Seattleite who played latin percussion"
In January 2000, Marty performed the "Suite for Jazz Trio" with members of the PNW Chamber Orchestra at Benaroya Hall.
Currently, Marty is playing regularly with seasoned Northwest Vocalist and also his bride of the last 20 years, Janette West and with the A-Town big band in the Skagit Valley.

Join Reuel and his Latin Ensemble for a fun night of music with rhythms and harmonies from Mexico to Argentina, Guatemala to Puerto Rico and destinations between. Reuel Lubag is a leading figure in the Pacific Northwest jazz scene, known as a pianist, drummer, bassist, arranger, recording engineer, producer, and videographer. A graduate of Central Washington University with a B.A. in Music (Theory & Composition), he has toured with the Glenn Miller, Cab Calloway, and Tommy Dorsey orchestras. Reuel has served as an educator and clinician at festivals including the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Port Townsend Jazz Festival, and LA Hot Jazz Festival. In 2014, he represented the U.S. as a Jazz Ambassador through the U.S. Department of State's American Music Abroad program with the Native Jazz Quartet. He is a regular performer at JazzClubs NW's Boxley's in North Bend and has shared the stage with artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Williams, Doc Severinsen, Ernestine Anderson, Jason Marsalis, Winard Harper, Dee Daniels, and many other distinguished musicians.
